Braun has just introduced some new and amazing kitchen appliances and I was, fortunately, present at the German Consulate for the launch – and a fabulous brunch prepared by Chef Claudio Aprile (CTV’s Television’s Master Chef Canada Judge and owner of Origin Restaurant in Toronto) with these new appliances.
Braun (Frankfurt, Germany) has been making beautiful and reliable kitchen appliances for over 90 years. Their products are known for their innovation, design, and superior performance.
Of late, Braun has been quiet on the market front, but their new line of kitchen appliances – Hand-mixers, Coffee Brewers and Blenders – will make a lot of noise.
Multiquick 7 Handmixer Whips like a Dream
One product I tested was the Multiquick 7 hand blender. It’s a beautiful piece of equipment in stainless steel with black accents. It has 5 attachments including a 20 oz plastic beaker, a stainless steel whisk, masher and a food processor, which includes 4 stainless steel blades; slicing, shredding, julienne, and French fry.
This blender has an ‘EasyClick’ system, which allows you to easily change attachments – one simple click into place, and you’re ready to go. The Multiquick 7 has ‘Smart Speed Technology’, the more you squeeze the ergonomic soft-grip handle, the more power you get. It’s quite light, has an anti-splash shaft and except for the motor, is dishwasher safe.
Brewing Coffee made Easy
Coffee served with our brunch was brewed in the new BrewSense coffee maker, which creates a consistently delicious cup of coffee, and you can choose the strength, regular or bold. It’s fully programmable (24-hour clock), and the 12 cup glass carafe, has a uniquely-designed top with an air filtration system which is designed to keep coffee warm longer – it minimizes the contact between air and coffee, preventing flavour loss while keeping the temperature consistent.
The BrewSense has a large digital display with LED indicators and an ‘Anti-Drip System’ that allows you to pause and pour, mid-brew, with no mess. Its warming plate also maintains a constant temperature so your coffee won’t burn after sitting. All removable parts are dishwasher-safe.
Juicing with Braun’s PureMix Countertop Blender
The most common uses for a blender are juicing, crushing ice and mixing drinks with this in mind Braun’s new PreMix Blender uses a unique blade design, positioning it higher, to guarantee consistent results. Its ‘PowerAssist technology’ senses the contents and maintains speed through the puree function, producing a perfectly healthy, lump-free, smoothie.

Braun PureMix blender
It has 7 pre-set blend functions which allow you to stir, mix, chop, puree, liquefy and crush ice; and the illuminated panel is sealed, making clean-up easy. The new blade combined with the specially designed 56 oz. plastic jug (both are easily removed and dishwasher safe) allow for optimum results, and its contemporary design, stainless steel, and black finish, make it a beautiful addition to any kitchen.

Delonghi Group Holiday Showcase
While at brunch, we had a sneak peek at the DeLonghi holiday showcase of products which will launch just in time for the holiday season: Eletta Expresso Coffee makers to Indoor Grills are just some of the products coming to market.
Note: Braun was acquired by The De’Longhi Group (Treviso, Italy) in 2012.
