Take a step on the wild side and follow us Down the Rabbit Hole to an Enchanted Forest called ‘Reverie at the Park’.

This little bistro, full of creative culinary delights and inspired cocktails, is located at the back of Weldon Park on College Street in Little Italy.

The wow factors hit you right at the front door and follow you into the exquisite interior, where high ceilings, pairs of vintage chairs, dried flower arrangements and birch bark accents set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The owners, Wesley Barber and Farren Farzam have created an elevated atmosphere, upscale – but at the same time – cozy. Elegant plates created by executive chef Jef Edwards, his outstanding culinary team and David Mulock who knocks out the phenomenal cocktails compliment the stunning environment.

I was, fortunately, invited to the 1-year anniversary dinner; where I witnessed an amazing display of culinary art. Chef Edward’s creations have to be seen to be believed. The mouth-watering dishes are fresh, using sustainable ingredients, often foraged locally in the park.

The dishes served were mouth-watering; one not-to-be-missed item is the gnocchi, which comes with an incredible house ricotta, edamame, spinach cream and charred palm.

The sea scallops were another winner. It’s the chef’s take on ‘surf-n-turf’, perfectly seared scallops – the surf part; scallop shaped mushrooms – the turf part, grilled to perfection and all presented on a squash puree.

Reverie Mackerel

Each plate was a visual masterpiece, including the smoked beef tartare and venison served with capers and truffle mash – wow!

Reverie has a full selection of wines, but – the wonderful cocktails are not to be overlooked.  This stunning restaurant has an outstanding staff who are happy to recommend or explain any of the menu items to you. The items changes often so my recommendation would be to try the tasting menu, many beautifully prepared dishes for you to share, giving you a sense of the all-round quality available.

Whether it’s date night or a special occasion shared with friends you can’t go wrong with Reverie on the Park.
