Soothing music and light pleasant surroundings greet you as you enter one of the most luxurious spas in Toronto at the Ritz Carlton. I’m here to experience the signature treatment by My Blend Spa the My Blend Facial by Clarins. Finding peace and relaxation doesn’t have to involve taking a flight to a Caribbean resort or somewhere else tropical overseas. You can find tranquility without even leaving your city. Everyone deserves a holiday, especially the ones of us that are so busy we find it difficult to escape.

I’m delighted to see that the reception area holds an array of products from My Blend by Clarins and additional Clarins products.
Behind closed doors lie long corridors leading to well-equipped treatment rooms. Including luxurious Couples Treatment Rooms for those that wish to relax with their significant other.
The Piece De Resistance, the Relaxation Lounge is outfitted with comfortable Chaise loungers and blankets. A place to relax and kick back while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the sky roof while nibbling on nutritious snacks.
Upon entering my treatment room, I meet Natalia Pavlova, one of the spa’s European-trained aesthetician. Here’s where it gets interesting: she does what’s called a Skin Consult, determining the impact of my lifestyle, environment, and life-stage factors – all by looking at my skin. I fill out a questionnaire electronically, and this helps Natalia determine “My Blend Formula” for my facial.
My Blend uses a unique mixture of customized products, and personalized boosters formulated specifically for my skin to improve the overall radiance, texture and moisture level.
The hour-long facial that followed utilized the personally customized formula. The treatment included exfoliation, a rejuvenating mask, and an incredible scalp, neck, hand, and foot massage.
I’ve had many spa treatments in my travels, but if you’re going to invest the time and money into a facial, it may as well be one that is personalized for your skin type.
The Treatment
After your feet refreshed with a hot towel, the relaxation begins to take over. As the lights dim, the Natalia cleans and exfoliates my body (arms and legs) while giving an upper body massage.
My ColourBlend light therapy mask rests on my face. It project’s lights of blue and red, which help kill bacteria on the face as well works acts as an anti-inflammatory.
Next is: MyWaveBlend, a vibrating wand. It works by eliminating puffiness in the face – which firms and tones the skin to make it tighter and younger looking. It’s a relaxing feel good second step, which brings the facial experience together.
Last but certainly not least, Cryotherapy, which uses a light cold wand, that is used around the eyes and forehead. It brightens the skin and makes those bags under the eyes disappear. It ties it together, brightening the skin and letting the cells flourish.
The Finish
Upon leaving, I head over to the Green Tea Infused Vitality Pool. This calming experience brings your beautiful experience to a great end. I sit back, breathe deeply and take in each moment of silence and tranquility.
I left the Ritz Carlton spa treatment feeling calm and satisfied. The facial made my skin feel rejuvenated and tighter. The best part was, there was no flight to catch or train to run after, I drove back home in my beautiful city – happy to have found real peace just around the corner.
